DIGITAL TACHOGRAPH

Briefly, the digital tachographs' set up comprises of:

a digital vehicle unit either fitted in the dashboard or above the windscreen.
a driver card

The unit works as follows:
It automatically registers driver activity and retains the information for about a year.
The drivers' card records and stores information for a variable number of days depending on the length of duty per day.
The digital tachographs menu offers different activities, such as driving, work and rest, for drivers to select as appropriate.
The registration number of the vehicle is stored in the digital tachographs memory.
It will warn drivers if they exceed the continuous driving limit.
The card is specific to, and the property of the driver, who is responsible for its safety and proper use.
